Mullet are prepared fried, sometimes smoked, when they are not being tossed at the Flora-Bama Mullet tossing festival that takes place once a year at the border of Alabama and Florida on Perdido Key.
Some people even eat the egg sack of mullet, fried also. I am not one of those people.
